We are currently seeking a skilled Underground Excavation Lead to join our dynamic team and oversee our underground excavation operations.

**Job Summary:**
The Underground Excavation Lead will be responsible for managing and executing all aspects of underground excavation projects, ensuring that operations are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. This role requires extensive knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment operation, and safety regulations, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- **Project Management:**
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of underground excavation projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align project goals and expectations.

- **Team Leadership:**
- Lead and supervise a team of excavation operators, laborers, and subcontractors, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
- Conduct training and mentorship for team members on best practices and safety protocols.

- **Safety Compliance:**
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize hazards on-site.

- **Equipment Management:**
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of excavation equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in optimal working condition.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance activities with the equipment management team.

- **Quality Control:**
- Monitor excavation activities to ensure the quality of work meets industry standards and project specifications.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain project integrity.

- **Reporting:**
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and incident reports.
- Provide regular updates to the project manager and stakeholders regarding project status and any potential issues.

**Qualifications:**

- **Education:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- **Experience:**
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground excavation or related construction fields.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, leading teams in complex excavation projects.

- **Certifications:**
- Valid driver’s license; OSHA certification preferred.
- Additional relevant certifications (e.g., Heavy Equipment Operator) are advantageous.

- **Skills:**
- Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

**Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to work in outdoor and underground environments.
- Capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment as required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as necessary.
